What is a Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat injuries, pain and disabilities. At Sans Souci Physiotherapy Centre, we use proven treatment techniques and a personalised hands-on approach to alleviate pain, restore function and prevent injury. We use goal-oriented programs, giving patients an active role in their own care.

Do I Need a referral?

No. You only need a referral from your doctor if you are being treated following a work injury (claiming Workers Compensation) or following a motor vehicle accident (Green Slip Third Party).

What happens at my first visit?

On your initial consultation, a thorough subjective and objective examination of your condition will be performed by one of our Physiotherapists. The ‘hands-on’ assessment will allow us to structure a suitable treatment plan through various treatment modalities. We ask that you bring any relevant medical information (e.g. doctor’s reports, X-ray reports etc) for the Physiotherapist to review before assessing your problem.

Who will perform my treatments?

Your treatment will be carried out by a qualified physiotherapist.

How long does each treatment session last?

A consultation will last 30 minutes. Our Physiotherapists endeavour to keep to their appointment schedules, but occasionally there are unanticipated circumstances, which are unavoidable.

What can I do to assist my recovery?

Your Physiotherapist will establish and plan a suitable program for you to continue with at home. If you have any problems or questions between or after visits, you can call us at any time.

How often will I need to come for treatment?

Depending on the type of injury and its severity the number of treatments required and their frequency will vary. Your Physiotherapist will discuss this with you on your initial consultation to give you a guide. Your physiotherapist will give you exercises to help manage your condition yourself. This will help to reduce the number of treatments you require.

What is Core Stability?

Core stability is the balance and co-ordination of the muscles of the trunk to ensure that the peripheral limbs have a stable base to work off. Training this area can promote muscular efficiency which can prevent injuries as well as reducing injury recurrence.  Core stability training is also successfully used in the management of long term back and neck pain.

We have a studio at our clinic. We run exercise classes from beginner to advanced levels, as well as semi-private and private studio classes. Studio classes are based on individually designed programs and carried out on our equipment. Each program is formatted following your initial assessment with our physiotherapist. You will also need to be screened prior to starting any of our classes in order to ensure you understand the basics and know what to avoid if you have any injuries.

What hours are you open?

Our clinic hours are 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 12 noon on Saturdays.

How do I get there?

We are located at 94A Princes Highway Beverley Park, there is parking available off the Princes Highway

What Health Funds do you accept?

If you have private health cover and subscribe to the “extras” cover you should be eligible to claim part of your treatment fee. There are many different schemes and you will need to check your level of cover with your insurer in order to find how much they will contribute towards your fees.

If you are covered, most health funds are online with HICAPS, which we provide. Please bring your health fund card with you in order for us to directly charge your fund, so you only need to pay the gap payment. Otherwise, we can provide a receipt for you to claim with your fund independently

What exercise classes do you offer?

Semi-Private Studio Classes:

these classes are based on individually designed programs. After an initial assessment, a specific program is designed to suit your needs and carried out on our studio equipment. Classes are for up to 4 people. Equipment includes trapeze table, reformer, ladder barrel, fitballs and more.

Private Studio Classes:

these classes are again based on individually designed programs and carried out on our equipment. These are one on one classes.

Workers Compensation/ Third Party programs:

these are pending approval from the nominated insurance company.

All clients must be screened and assessed by our physiotherapist prior to beginning classes. This way we can ensure all your needs are catered for.
