Yoga

Our new Yoga studio is designed for people of all experience levels to practice and develop their knowledge and understanding of yoga. As you integrate yoga as a lifestyle, you’ll allow it to enrich your life both on and off the mat.

You don’t have to be flexible or fit to practice yoga. No matter your age, gender, level of experience or fitness, we’ve got a class to suit.

The benefits one can gain from yoga will vary for everyone.

Hatha Basics

This class is a comprehensive introduction to the underlying principles of Hatha Yoga – the root of most yoga styles practiced in the west. You will learn a variety of preliminary exercises to prepare the body for practice, plus receive a well-balanced introduction to Yoga Asanas (postures), basic Pranayama (breathwork) and Kriyas (cleansing actions with the breath). This class is a mix of held poses, vinyasa and mindfulness in an intelligent sequence.

Perfect for complete yoga beginners, students with less than a year’s yoga practice or existing students who wish to deepen and further their knowledge and understanding of Hatha Yoga.

Hatha

This class is for the more experienced student who wants to explore the Hatha Yoga practice in a deeper way. Aligned with the ancient principles of pure connection with self, this class explores the possibilities of the practice using Asana, Pranayama and Mantra.

Our Hatha Yoga classes consist of a short breathing mindfulness exercise, sun salutations (not always), standing and seated postures. This strengthens, cleanses and relaxes your body and mind. All classes have a final relaxation pose. Each class is based on the same approach, taking you in and out of postures correctly and safely using the breath.

Hatha and Meditation

This class combines the practices of Hatha Yoga and Meditation creating powerful potential for transformation and holistic healing on all layers of Being – mind, heart, body and soul.

The practice strengthens and conditions muscles, tendons, ligaments and organs as well as dissolves tension in the deeper layers of the body. You will feel stronger physically, mentally and emotionally as well as achieve optimum cellular health, inner peace and clarity.

Yang, Yin and Meditation

In this holistic healing class, we combine the energies of Yang and Yin to actively open the spine and gently release fascia. The Yang energy creates space for surrender and ease of Yin to be felt throughout your entire body and being. We seal the class with a Meditation to allow you to fully embody calm, clarity and connection to the heart-mind.

The many healing benefits of a regular Yang, Yin and Meditation practice include:

  • Improved muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina.
  • Increased blood circulation.
  • Reduced stress and tension.
  • Enhanced clarity, creativity, focus and intuition.
  • Detoxification and stronger immune system.

Yin and Meditation

This 60-minute class combines the practices of Yin Yoga and Meditation creating powerful potential for transformation and holistic healing on all layers of Being – body, mind, and soul.

The practice dissolves tension in the deeper layers of the body to bring long-lasting relief and optimum cellular health, as well as refreshes the mind to allow clarity and deeper understanding to flow.

Japanese

Japanese form of yoga based on the healing massage, Zen Shiatsu using the meridians the same as an acupuncturist would – without the needles. It uses body movement and specific positions to access the meridians and even the actual organs.

Qi means “life-force”. Qi (Japanese) classes work towards increasing and balancing the energy flow of the body. Japanese yoga is founded on Hatha yoga poses and dynamic breath work, combined with other traditional oriental therapies.

This is a very accessible and therapeutic style of yoga for all body types and capabilities. It is more about enabling our bodies to function better which, therefore leads to transformation of our health and vitality.
