Sans Souci Physiotherapy Centre have a team of experts that offer premium health care physiotherapy products and services. We are specialists in the treatment of Men’s and Women’s health issues including pre and post-operative incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and Lymphoedema. Our treatments are highly individualised, one on one and evidenced based.

Annette

Annette Rich

Director and Principal Physiotherapist of Sans Souci Physiotherapy Centre

Annette graduated with a Bachelor of Science (physiotherapy) from the University of Sydney in 2004. Prior to this Annette graduated with a Bachelor of nursing from the University of Wollongong in 1996 and has also completed a Graduate Diploma in critical care Nursing specialising in Emergency and Trauma in 1999. Annette has 10 years clinical experience in Emergency/critical care nursing and 12 years private practice physiotherapy experience. More than 5 years ago Annette was invited by a well renowned Sydney based Urological surgeon to commence treating his post -prostatectomy patients in an attempt to improve continence outcomes. Annette and her team at Sans Souci Physiotherapy Centre have now treated over 1000 men’s health patients with incontinence, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease and pelvic pain in addition to running a busy musculoskeletal based practice.

Annette has been invited by a number of Sydney based Urological surgeons to present and educate local doctors on pelvic floor pre-habilitation in addition to being a co-organiser of a local initiative that aimed at educating more than 200 community members on the current developments in prostate cancer treatment and recovery. Annette and her team are also involved in a research project aimed at improving outcome measures and ultimately the quality of life of those men Diagnosed with Peyronie’s disease.

Sharyn

Sharyn Wappett

Physiotherapist

Sharyn has been a physiotherapist for over 20 years. She has worked predominantly in private practice and for 13 years ran her own successful inner city practice. Over the last 7 years Sharyn has focussed on her area of interest being women’s health, in particular Lymphoedema and rehabilitation after treatment for cancer. Sharyn has been at Sans Souci Physio since August 2015 and in addition to the above she also treats men’s health and general musculoskeletal conditions.

Rachel

Rachel Poon

Physiotherapist

Rachel completed Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 1995. During her 4 ½ years of clinical experience in a Hong Kong rehabilitation hospital, she also completed a Certificate of Acupuncture in 1997. Rachel completed her Masters of Sports in Physiotherapy from Curtin University of Technology WA in 2001. She has extensive clinical experience in acute and chronic musculoskeletal and sports conditions. She also has a special interest in Clinical Pilates, exercise rehabilitation and biomechanics. In the last 15 years, she has been practicing dry needling / acupuncture in conjunction with physiotherapy treatment with great clinical effectiveness.

Vanessa

Vanessa Stanton

Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Accredited Exercise Scientist, Pilates Instructor

Vanessa completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2015 and Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2017, at the University of Wollongong. With this she gained accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Exercise Scientist and Exercise Physiologist.

Additionally, Vanessa completed her Clinical Pilates studies in 2015 is in the final stages of registering with Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA) as a Level 2 Pilates Instructor.
Vanessa has worked at Sans Souci Physiotherapy Centre (SSPC) since 2010, initially as a receptionist whilst she completed her studies. In 2015 she began teaching Pilates and in 2018 will be consulting as an Exercise Physiologist.
Vanessa is currently studying a Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney and is expected gain qualification as a physiotherapist in 2019.

Megan

Megan Williams

Pilates Instructor

Megan was previously a Genetic Counsellor at the NSW Newborn Screening Programme at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead from 2004-2005. She discovered Pilates when old netball injuries started misbehaving.

Megan is currently an APMA Level 2 Pilates instructor. Megan has been teaching since August 2013. Megan enjoys working in “wellness” and in all aspects of Pilates, one-on-one, semi-private and group class settings.

Megan runs our Mums and Bubs class. This classes offers a fun, relaxed, supportive place for mums to recover from pregnancy and birth. The classes are also a place where friendships with other new mums at about the same stage of this exciting journey, can grow. Where, while working on keeping well and healthy, the common experiences of new parenthood can be shared and laughed over.

In order to provide best practice for our clients, in addition to maintaining continuing education programmes with the Australian Pilates Method Association, Megan is undertaking a Bachelor in Exercise and Sport Science through the University of New England, Armida le.

Toni

Toni Powrie

Massage Therapist

Following her early career as a professional tennis coach, Toni qualified in 1987 as a massage therapist.
Since that time, Toni has worked in various areas of treatment, including physiotherapy & natural therapy clinics, workplace injury prevention programs, & with elderly patients at aged care facilities. She has also treated at sporting events, particularly the Sydney Olympic & Paralympic Games, NSW Open Tennis Tournament, Fina Swimming Challenges & various triathlon events.
Toni has 9 years of massage teaching & lecturing experience & is a current member of ATMS.

Gillian

Gillian Spencer 

Physiotherapist

Gillian graduated from Sydney University (Cumberland Campus) in 1979 and later completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Science. She has worked for many years in private practice, and has owned and operated her own practice in Bangor for 8 years.

Gillian has extensive experience in the treatment of a wide range of musculo-skeletal injuries with a strong background in the treatment of TMJ disorders and associated cervical dysfunction and headaches. Gillian has a special interest in women's health including continence issues, pre and post natal back pain. Gill has undertaken further education to expand her skills and expertise in both Womens and Mens Health.

Other interests apart from family include singing in a community choir and walking her dog!

Kim McCarthy

Customer Relations and Practice Manager

Kim has many years experience in Business Administration and Customer Service.
She looks after our bookkeeping and is responsible for events, marketing and promotions.

Kim Beilharz

Kim Beilharz

Customer Relations and Practice Manager

Kim has extensive financial services and customer service experience having previously worked in the banking, legal and real estate sectors. She has been a part of the team at Sans Souci Physiotherapy Centre for over 10 years.

Melissa Resize

Melissa Hourani

Physiotherapist

A physiotherapist with over 10 years combined experience in massage and physiotherapy.

Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) at the University of Sydney in 2008. Prior to that she was a sports and remedial massage therapist which provided the foundation for her passion in physiotherapy.

Melissa is focussed and driven, and has a real passion for helping people improve their quality of life and function through lifestyle change, nutrition and exercise.

Whilst working at Calvary Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred she developed a passion for women's health, including pre and postnatal conditions. She believes in taking an active approach to treat all types of conditions and pain management.

Janette O’Toole

Physiotherapist

Janette grew up in Sydney and graduated as a Physiotherapist from Sydney University in 1996. She has over 15 years experience in Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. She is married and has one daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking and keeping fit.

Janette has extensive experience in the assessment and management of incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, bowel disorders, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain and antenatal and postnatal care. She also is experienced in treating a wide range of muscluloskeletal disorders such a arthritis, sporting injuries and post-operative conditions.

She has completed Postgraduate Certificates in Continence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Women’s Health (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Acupuncture.

Janette is enthusiastic about sharing her understanding and knowledge of the pelvic floor. She has presented at Australian and international conferences, published a book chapter for a midwifery textbook and published several articles for Australian and international journals.
